March 1, 1973 - July 9, 2024
Justine was killed on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024. She was walking and was hit by a car by a distracted driver. We are all devastated by this tragic loss. I never thought I would write a Blog informing you of her passing.
I have hundreds of pictures and videos of and with Justine since we first met in 2007. I picked this one because it best describes our relationship, even though it would take a thousand words.
Justine began ministering to the ladies of her community years ago. In 2016, I came beside her to give a face and name to her ministry, Women of Faith and Hope Uganda. Since then, we have worked together to minister to our families, physically and spiritually. She has been a Mother to all who know her, a friend, and a sister. Our friend, Angie, has been a friend and supporter of Justine and the ministry for years. I think she says it best:
"My dear, sweet Ugandan Sister Justine went home to be with the Lord. She was the head of our ministry in Uganda. More than that, she was the ministry's and community's heartbeat. She was a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend to so many people. She was 'The Christian lady who would help you if you were struggling.' She was a light. She truly did change her Country. She didn't just change 'A' life; she changed countless lives. Through her selfless dedication, she touched more people than I could ever count. She truly was the hands and feet of Jesus upon the Earth." Angie David.
Justine called Angie "Our Angel Angie." This ministry is genuinely Justine's vision, and she said, "God has laid this on my heart." She's also a rescuer.
I've applied for a Visa to Uganda and will go over as soon as it comes through. Unfortunately, I missed her funeral yesterday and will miss her burial tomorrow on our farm. The family, I, and the Board members (WhatsApp video call) will work together to see how it will look to carry on Justine's ministry and vision without her. We will continue; nothing will change regarding the day-to-day and the programs we have in place.
Your prayers are appreciated during this challenging time.
